The Edmonton Eskimos were founded in 1949. They play in Edmonton, Alberta at the Commonwealth Stadium. They play in the Western division of the Canadian Football League. Their colors are green and gold and they have a mascot named Nanook the Bear. They have head coach Danny Maciocia, general manager Paul Jones, and CEO Hugh Campbell.

The Edmonton Eskimos have been the Western Division champions 22 times and have won the Grey Cup 13 times. They have a rival of the Calgary Stampeders. They have a consecutive record of being in the playoffs 34 years in a row (1972 to 2005). The current uniform colors, green and gold, were adopted when they received uniforms from the University of Alberta Golden Bears football team, which was dormant due to a lack of competition in 1949. The colors have remained since that time, and the Golden Bears maintain them to this day as well.
